Enabling everyone to improve their health safety and quality of life through training, education, resources, and service to the community.
​St. John Ambulance carries out its mission through first aid, and applied health and safety services.
​
Community Services volunteers serve communities across Canada, providing first aid and emergency response support, as well as improving the quality of life for people confined to a health care facility through our Therapy Dog visitation program.
Our volunteers contribute millions of hours to Canadian communities each year. First aid and applied health and safety training comprises instructors, volunteers and staff who provide high-quality first aid training and products.
Under the guidance of our network of medical and health care professionals, St. John Ambulance is the national leader, setting the standard for training in first aid, and applied health and safety skills.

Description of Organization
What we offer
​
St. John Ambulance has the capacity of providing the following services in times of disaster, public health crisis, or civil emergency:
​

Medical first response and health care support services
-
Heath-related screening and humanitarian support during public health emergencies (e.g. Pandemic, etc.)

At the request/authorization of civil authorities, assist with the transportation of ill, injured or vulnerable persons in support of the public ambulance system i.e., assist in the evacuation of hospitals and other health care facilities

Assist in the search for missing persons

Provide a wide range of psychosocial support to hospitals, seniors residences and care facilities, through St. John Ambulance’s Therapy Dog Program.

St. John Ambulance has a network of Branches and Medical First Responders Units located throughout Ontario.
